KURSI CHAIR for fip_ I was a Sari

Kursi chair_February 2017, Mumbai, India

FiP for I was a Sari is a project developed by FiP Research Collective at Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with 2nd Innings Handicrafts Pvt Ltd, a for-profit, zero dividend social enterprise focused on empowering underprivileged Indian craftswomen by generating recurring employment opportunities and CORP India, a Mumbai based NGO supporting underprivileged women from the city slums.

Catharina Lorenz, artisans Asha Sagar / Anita Robert / Neha Kiharva

An iron skeleton in the shape of a basket crafted by local artisans. Its raw aesthetic immediately becomes gentle with the interlacement of a soft snake-pillow, sewed with refined saris.
